Loan Servicing Manager, Agricultural and Small Business Lending
Salinas, CA

Job Description:

Manages centralized loan services department to ensure smooth daily operations and maintenance of consistent centralized services work flow.  Functions of department include boarding and servicing of commercial, real estate and agricultural loans, reporting statistical and financial data to funding sources, documentation review, insurance follow-up, centralized document preparation, payment processing, general ledger balancing, monthly certifications and collateral custody.  Generally has eight or more years of experience.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that each borrower’s file(s) contains documents that are in compliance with state and federal regulations; conduct periodic loan file audits to ensure compliance with loan covenants.
  2. Prepare and/or review all loan documentation for completion and accuracy prior to loan closing.
  3. Generate loan aging reports; organizes collateral inspections and maintains files on all bankruptcy and judgements.
  4. Reconcile systems and generate loan/funding reports periodically for Senior Management, accounting staff, and lenders.
  5. Assist the CEO/Controller with secondary market sales and reporting (including Trust Fund).
  6. Reports statistical and financial data to funding sources and agencies such as Farmer Mac, USDA Farm Services Agency, and US Small Business Administration.
  7. Makes periodic visits to branch offices to assess and monitor workflows and ensure proper documentation procedures are being followed.
  8. Continually evaluates system processes for improvements.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/business/finance or related field preferred;
  • A minimum of 8-10 years progressively responsible experience in commercial or agricultural loan servicing of non-profit community loan fund, CDFI, commercial or agricultural financial institution;
  • Experience required in loan documentation preparation;
  • Knowledge of basic financial analysis;
  • Knowledge of real and personal property security;
  • Ability to think critically, plan and organize multiple tasks in order to carry out projects and coordinate reporting requirements;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with people at all management and support levels and diverse socio-economic backgrounds;
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in both English (required) and Spanish (preferred);
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet frequent deadlines required;
  • Highly motivated, self-directed team player;
  • Experience in loan servicing software or database management software; Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
